New Delhi: Telugu actor Varun Tej Konidela, who is currently promoting his upcoming film Operation Valentine, has opened up about his love story with his wife, actor Lavanya Tripathi. He shared that the two of them had initially decided to keep their relationship under wraps as they were still discovering each other and figuring out their place in the industry. Varun and Lavanya met in 2016 on the sets of Mister (2017) and fell in love. They tied the knot last year.

Varun Tej-Lavanya Tripathi Relationship

Varun opened up about the same in an interview with Indian Express. He said, “Initially when I wanted to keep it under the wraps, it was difficult to balance.” When asked if it is even possible for two celebrities to hide their relationship, he said, “It did work! I am a sitting example. It did work but it has its difficulties. Sometimes you just want to break this pressure off, go out and chill.”

Varun Tej went on to say that they preferred to put their profession first and did not want their relationship to be known in public.

“When we met, we were still discovering and trying to figure out our place in the industry. So we figured that was more important to us at the time rather than falling in love and roaming around the city. So we kind of gave our work the priority in the beginning. Later we understood that it was the right approach for us as we grew as people together.” He said in the same interaction.

Prior to making their love official in June 2023, Varun and Lavanya dated for five years. In November of last year, the pair got married in Tuscany, Italy.

On Valentine’s Day 2024, several celebrities shared mushy and adorable posts on social media for their partners.

Among them included Shilpa Shetty, Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare, Ananya Panday, Adity Roy Kapur and more.
