Veteran actor Suniel Shetty recently opened up about the joy of becoming a grandfather and how true happiness often lies in life’s simplest moments. Taking to LinkedIn, Shetty penned a heartfelt note reflecting on his journey and the shift in his perspective after welcoming his granddaughter.

“It’s funny how life works,” Shetty began in his emotional post. “You spend years chasing things you think will make you happy — the right roles, the right deals, a larger office, more money, the perfect comeback, more recognition. More everything. But you know what I’ve learned? That real joy mainly comes from the simplest of things.”

Sharing his thoughts on embracing this new phase of life, the actor admitted that despite decades spent building businesses, chasing film roles, and striving for bigger milestones, none of that compares to the happiness he feels holding his granddaughter. “The race to have more kind of fades when you come to that point in life where you realise what truly matters,” Shetty wrote. “And seeing my Amma hold her great-granddaughter in her arms is the kind of moment that is now a core memory. I’ll never get over the beauty of such moments.”

With a touch of nostalgia, Shetty also reminisced about his childhood in Mangalore. He fondly recalled the simplicity of those carefree summers — running barefoot in open fields and enjoying freshly cooked meals made with love. His words beautifully captured the essence of finding contentment in life’s quieter, more meaningful moments.
