When A Fan Mistook Shah Rukh Khan For Akshay Kumar And Chased Him Across An Airport For Autograph

When Shah Rukh first appeared with Anushka Sharma on Sajid Khan and Riteish Deshmukh's TV show Yaaron Ki Baraat, he shared a hilarious story.

A fan started following him while Shah Rukh Khan was at London's Heathrow airport.

Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar, two Bollywood stars who are quite distinct in appearance, once had a fan mistake one for the other. When Shah Rukh first appeared with Anushka Sharma on Sajid Khan and Riteish Deshmukh's TV show Yaaron Ki Baraat, he shared a hilarious story from 20 years ago.

A fan started following him while he was at London's Heathrow airport. The actor realised that his fan mistakenly identified him as Akshay Kumar when he stopped to greet her, despite the fact that he was running late for his journey.

Shah Rukh Khan said, "Once I was returning from New York where I was shooting for Pardes. Unfortunately, my wife had a miscarriage, and I needed to reach quickly. So, we took the Concorde plane, which was known for its speed. I reached from LA to New York on that flight, usually traveling alone with some assistance. The Concorde terminal in London is different. After that, I took an Air India flight which would take me to India. I didn't know I had to go outside. Whenever I tried to grab my bag quickly, the handle would break. I was running, clothes falling, not knowing where to go as I had never done this before. I was running frantically."

"There was a girl who started chasing me from the Concorde terminal, asking for an autograph and a photo. I said, ‘Not now, I'll miss my flight’. It was very difficult for me to reach there. She said, ‘Please, please’, and I said, ‘Wait a minute’. I started getting angry. I said, ‘I'll miss my plane’. Finally, I checked in. I went outside and said, ‘Come, come, take it’. I'm a big fan, a big fan. Oh Akshay, I love you. I didn't want to break their heart, so the signature I gave was Akshay Kumar's," the actor added.

Shah Rukh Khan recently showed up at the grand wedding celebrations of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in Mumbai on July 12. The actor showed up with his wife Gauri Khan at the event.
