Salman Khan and his bodyguard Shera have shared an unbreakable bond for nearly three decades. For 29 years, Shera has been by Salman’s side, protecting him amid various security concerns and threats. The trailer for Salman’s 2011 film 'Bodyguard' was launched by Shera, and during the event, both spoke warmly about their bond.

Salman Khan said he can trust Shera with eveything

During the event, Salman expressed his deep trust in Shera, saying, "I can trust him with everything—be it money, family, my life, and even girls. He is very trustworthy. Apart from guarding me, his duty has also been to accompany every girl who has been in my life. I knew he would take good care of them wherever they went. But then, if he ever decides to write a book on me, I’m finished."

Salman also added a light-hearted moment, jokingly recalling, "There have been times when I was told, ‘Bhai, drop Shera to his room.’ Shera’s room was always near mine so that he could drop the ‘boss’ in his room. But sometimes it was also like (imitating a drunk Shera), ‘Maalik, maalik, I love you, maalik.’"

But the reality is that he protects his close ones so much that even he can take a bullet for them. He is the real-life bodyguard."

When Salman rejected Rs 7 crore deal for Shera

Salman Khan’s love for Shera was further highlighted when he rejected a lucrative Rs 7 crore deal to wear a security agency’s uniform in Bodyguard and instead opted to wear Shera’s company’s uniform. Shera had then told Rediff.com, "Atul and Alvira Agnihotri, the producers of the film, called me and asked for the logo of my security company. I didn’t know for a long time that Bhai had chosen to wear my company’s uniform. You can imagine his affection for me by that. He’s truly a kind-hearted man."

In a recent interview with Zoom, Shera spoke about his enduring bond with Salman, saying, "Our jodi is unique—he’s a Pathaan, and I’m a Sardar. Together, we’re unbeatable." He also reaffirmed his lifelong loyalty to the star, adding, "I’ve told Bhai, ‘Jab tak mein hu, tab tak mein aapki seva karunga' (As long as I’m here, I will serve you)."

Shera proudly shared that despite many bodyguards moving on to other stars, he has remained with Salman for nearly 30 years because no one else can manage him the way he does. "I’ve been with Salman for 29 years. Many bodyguards move on to other stars, but I’ve stuck with Bhai because no one else can manage him like I do," Shera said.
