Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan stepped back into the spotlight on Monday, marking his first public appearance since the knife attack at his Mumbai residence last month. The 54-year-old star attended Netflix’s slate announcement event, where he expressed his gratitude for being able to stand before an audience again.
During the early hours of January 16, an intruder broke into Saif’s 12th-floor apartment in Bandra’s Satguru Sharan building and repeatedly stabbed him in an attempted robbery. The actor was rushed to the hospital, underwent surgery, and was discharged after four days.

At the event, Saif's next film, ‘Jewel Thief - The Red Sun Chapter’, was officially announced and the teaser of the film was also released. Directed by Robbie Grewal, the heist drama also stars Jaideep Ahlawat. Produced by Pathaan director Siddharth Anand and Mamta Anand under their banner Marflix Pictures, the project promises to bring an exciting thriller to audiences.
Netflix shared the teaser of the film with the caption, “Two masterminds, one priceless diamond and a heist spanning across the globe. Jewel Thief - The Heist Begins, coming soon, only on Netflix.”

Speaking at the event, Saif shared his enthusiasm: "It feels very nice to be standing here in front of you. And it feels very nice to be here. I'm very excited about this movie.
He further added, "Siddharth and I have been talking about this film for a long time, and I've always wanted to do a heist film and a film like this. I couldn't have asked for a better co-star. And basically a lovely movie and I'm very excited."
The synopsis of the film reads, “A Jewel thief is hired by a powerful crime lord to steal the world’s most elusive diamond - The African Red Sun. His perfectly planned heist then takes a wild turn. Chaos, twists, and unexpected alliances unfold in this high-stakes race making it a deadly game of deception and betrayal.”
