New Delhi: Ratan Tata, a true visionary, who gave force and face to India's many industrial efforts was a true blue fan of films. Yes! Many do not know that the former chairman of the Tata Group, who passed away at the age of 86 at the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. As people from all walks of life pen heartfelt condolences for the icon, many have shared fond memories associated with the visionary leader.

Ratan Tata, besides his many ambitious pursuits and successful businesses, was also particularly fond of films, especially the action-comedy genre.

Ratan Tata liked THESE Hollywood films

In a 2020 interview with BBC, Shantanu Naidu, Tata's close aide shared that the industrialist likes Hollywood action-comedied. Among his favoruites included 'The Other Guys', starring Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell, and 'The Lone Ranger' starring Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer in the lead. 

Naidu further added, "A series about experiences in the Israel Defence Force called 'Fauda' is Mr. Tata's favoruite Netflix binge." For those unaware, 'Fauda' chronicles the covert operations of an Israeli Defence Forces unit, it folllows Doron, an Israeli soldier who goes undercover to hunt down a terrorist.

Why Ratan Tata did not like Hindi films

Besides his admiration for several Hollywood flicks, Tata also had his views on the Hindi film industry. In an old interview with Simi Garewal that has been doing the rounds on social media, Tata once critiqued the over-the-top violence in Hindi films saying, "There is more ketchup spread in Hindi movies than in all the restaurants of Bombay." He admitted that while his Hindi had improved over the years, he found Hindi films hard to avoid on television.
