Paresh Rawal Defends Akshay Kumar's Choices Of Multiple Films A Year, Says 'He Isn’t Smuggling, Selling Drugs Or Gambling'

Paresh Rawal has come to the defence of his longtime friend and co-star Akshay Kumar, addressing the scrutiny surrounding Kumar's decision to do multiple films a year.

New Delhi: Long-time friends and co-stars Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal have been working together in Bollywood for quite some time. Their films together include 'Hera Pheri', 'Phir Hera Pheri', 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa', 'Garam Masala', and more. In a candid interview with Siddharth Kannan, Paresh Rawal defended Akshay Kumar, who has been under fire for starring in many films every year.

When asked about their friendship, Paresh Rawal said, "There is no insecurity. I know I can't do what he does. Be it the action or being a really good-looking guy."

Paresh was also questioned about Akshay Kumar's choice to star in several films per year. He defended the actor saying, “What is your problem if he does so many films? People go to him to make the films, right? Yes, he takes money for it; he's not doing charity.”

According to Paresh, Akshay's dedication to the profession and the people he works with in his films are what keep him going strong. He went on to say, "As a producer, I would sign an actor only if I can account for the money I am investing," further highlighting how valuable Akshay's work ethic is.

Paresh supported Akshay, saying, "Wo kaam karna pasand karta hai (He likes to work)," in response to whether Akshay's hectic schedule affects the quality of his work.

He added, “Wo smuggling toh nahi karta hai, daaru supply toh nahi karta hai. Drugs to nahi karta hai, jua to nahi karta hai. Wo kaam karta hai to kitna employment generate hota hai, wo bhi dekhiye aap ( He isn’t smuggling, supplying alcohol, selling drugs, or gambling. And more importantly, his films are also a source of employment for thousands).”
