About Nargis' sister

Regarding her sister’s situation, a source close to Nargis revealed she learned about the incident through news reports. Additionally, Nargis and Aliya’s mother denied the allegations against Aliya. According to a source quoted by India Today, "She has not been in touch with her sister for over 20 years. The actor learned about the incident through the news, just like everyone else."

Aliya Fakhri was arrested in connection with the deaths of her ex-boyfriend Edward Jacobs and his friend Anastasia Star Ettienne, who perished in a fire in Queens, New York. As reported by Daily News, authorities alleged Aliya set a two-story garage ablaze, leading to the victims’ deaths from smoke inhalation and thermal injuries. Aliya has been denied bail and charged with their murders.

Nargis and Aliya’s mother shared her disbelief over the accusations, stating, “I don’t think she would be killing someone. She was a person who was caring for everybody. She tried to help everybody," according to multiple outlets.

Currently detained at Rikers Island, New York City’s largest jail, Aliya has pleaded not guilty. However, if convicted, she could face a life sentence.
