Nana Patekar can be heard saying in the video, "A video is becoming viral in which I have slapped a kid. The scene was from our film and we rehearsed already. The youngster in the video came in just as we were about to begin. When I first saw him, I assumed he was one of us, so I hit him. It dawned on me later that he wasn't a member of the crew (Translated in English)."

Nana clarified that as soon as he realised his mistake, he and the shooting crew started searching for that person but by then the boy had left from there.

Nana said that he never behaves like this, and never raises his hand on anyone. Nana said that if he finds that person, he is ready to apologise to him too.

Before the video became popular, internet users had mixed feelings about Nana. Some defended him, while others said he was wrong to hit the fan. People who liked Nana backed him up, saying that the person taking selfies was bothering the actors and that the actor had every right to be angry.

The last time we saw Nana Patekar was in Vivek Agnihotri's movie 'The Vaccine War.' Nana Patekar's first OTT movie will be 'Laal Batti', a political thriller directed by Prakash Jha.
