Mawra Hocane Addresses Debate On Fawad Khan’s Return To Bollywood: 'I Block Out The Noise...'

Amid the backlash surrounding Fawad Khan's upcoming Bollywood film, Mawra Hocane, who has also worked in Bollywood, has shared her thoughts on the matter.

New Delhi: The much-awaited return of Pakistani actor Fawad Khan to Hindi films is already igniting debate. While fans are excited about his role in 'Abir Gulal', certain political organisations have objected to the film's release due to its inclusion of a Pakistani actor. Now, fellow Pakistani actor Mawra Hocane has offered a realistic perspective on the matter.

Mawra Hocane's Response

Regarding the criticism of Pakistani actresses performing in India, Mawra shared her views in an exclusive interview with the Times of India. The actress replied, “I don’t take it personally. This is how the world works, right? I truly believe if it’s meant to happen, it will. I block out the noise around my work. I love to do what I do, so I do not let these things affect me.”

"It is truly the producer’s headache, which is sad, but it is their problem. If I invest my mind into thinking, ‘Oh, what’s going to happen,’ I will always be restless," Mawra added, addressing the larger issue and recognising that producers should tackle any political or industry-related problems.

Fawad Khan's Bollywood Comeback

Fawad Khan and Bollywood diva Vaani Kapoor will co-star in the romance drama ‘Abir Gulal’. After six years, the movie marks his return to Indian cinema. He has previously starred in Bollywood films like ‘Khoobsurat’, ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ and ‘Kapoor & Sons’.

But not everyone is happy with Fawad Khan's comeback to Bollywood. Sanjay Nirupam, the head of the Shiv Sena, and the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) have opposed the movie's release in Maharashtra.
