'Representation Matters': LGBTQ Activist Swami Laxmi Narayan Tripathi Urges Rajkummar Rao To Create More Inclusive Films During Maha Kumbh Visit

Rajkummar Rao and his wife Patralekhaa recently visited the Maha Kumbh Mela, where they met prominent LGBTQ activist Dr. Swami Laxmi Narayan Tripathi.

Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao and actress Patralekhaa joined a long list of famous personalities who undertook the spiritual journey to the Maha Kumbh in 2025. The pair marked a turning point by participating in ceremonies and taking a dip in the holy waters of the Triveni Sangam. Meeting Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Dr. Swami Laxmi Narayan Tripathi in the Kinnar Akhara, nevertheless, gave their visit more significance.

As an outspoken supporter of LGBTQ rights, Swami Laxmi Narayan Tripathi approached Rajkummar with a kind request during their discussion. Because she thinks films may alter people's minds and raise awareness, she urged the actor to think about making more films on the LGBTQ community. She emphasised the significance of ongoing media portrayal of LGBTQIA+ stories and lauded Rajkummar for his previous roles in films that did just that.

Posting a photo of the two of them chatting on Instagram, Dr. Swami Laxmi Narayan Tripathi wrote, "During Mahakumbh 2025, @rajkummar_rao and @patralekhaa visited Kinnar Akhara to meet Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Dr. Swami Laxmi Narayan Tripathi (Kinnar Akhara). Laxmi Ji praised Rajkummar Rao for his outstanding work in Bollywood, especially his film that highlights LGBTQIA+ stories. She emphasized the need for more films that represent the LGBTQIA+ community, as cinema has the power to create awareness and bring positive change. Representation matters, and storytelling can shape a more inclusive world!"
