Kusha Kapila Reacts To 'Unkind Comments' She Gets After Separation: 'I Am Ridiculously Privileged'

Content creator and actor Kusha Kapila, who is busy promoting her two upcoming films, 'Sukhee' and 'Thank You For Coming’, reacted to the trolling she faces after announcing her separation.

New Delhi: Content creator and actor Kusha Kapila, who is busy promoting her two upcoming films, 'Sukhee' and 'Thank You For Coming’, reacted to the trolling she faces after announcing her separation from former husband Zorawar Ahluwalia.

Kusha took to her Instagram stories and posted a long note with her dance video from the song of her film ‘Sukhee.’ She wrote, "It's been two months since men (and a small percentage of women) leave such unkind comments on my profile none of which has anything to do with my work. I often think I will name and shame them, write an article defending myself, and call out certain sections of media but then it hits me how ridiculously privileged I am. I have so many of you supporting me, a solid family, a solid group of friends, and social equity. I am getting to dance to a song that I am a part of in an actual feature film. I got this. I genuinely got this (sic)."

Earlier in a conversation with Zoom, Kusha had said she understands that as a public figure, her personal life will be under scrutiny and she is working toward developing a thick skin to deal with all this.

“I do understand that this is a part of being a public person like if you’re profiting off being a public person, I understand that this is now a part of that. Kuch toh log kahenge logon ka kaam hai kehna (it is the job of the people to comment) and which was going to happen. I think my life now is in the service of making my skin thicker and thicker every day. And that’s just what I work towards literally every day I have to be immune, I have to be thick-skinned and the scars will begin to heal soon enough,” she told Zoom TV.

On the work front, Kusha is currently in Toronto for the Gala World Premiere of her film ‘Thank You For Coming’ at the Toronto International Film Festival. The film, also featuring Bhumi Pednekar, Dolly Singh, Shehnaaz Gill and Shibani Bedi, will release on October 6.

Her another film Sukhee, also starring Shilpa Shetty, is all set to release on September 22, 2023.
