New Delhi: On the popular quiz show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati', actor Amitabh Bachchan often recounts experiences from his personal and professional life. In the recent episode of 'Kaun Banega Crorepati 15', the contestants faced the question about Waheeda Rehman, and Bachchan shared his fondness for the actor.
During the episode, Amitabh expressed his admiration for the veteran actor Waheed Rehman. He declared himself to be Waheeda's "biggest fan" and praised her talent. While interacting with a family from Kalyan in Maharashtra, Big B posed a question to them. For a prize of Rs 80,000, the family was asked which veteran actress of films such as 'Pyaasa' and 'Guide' had been awarded the 'Dadasaheb Phalke Award' in 2023. The correct answer was Waheed Rehman.
After they had correctly answered the question, Amitabh Bachchan told everyone that Waheeda was honoured with the prestigious award on Dev Anand's 100th birth anniversary. He then praised the veteran diva and called her an 'incredible actor'. He also said that she should have gotten this award way earlier.
"Meri favourite hain woh, main unka fan hoon bahut bada. Unke saath kaam karne ka saubhagya humein mila. She is kindhearted and very simple, and she never makes anyone feel like she's such a huge star," Amitabh Bachchan said.
This isn’t the first time that Amitabh has named Waheeda as his favourite actress. In 2015, he took to his blog to share, “The beautiful Waheeda Rehman, who has been my favourite actress ever since I started watching movies, was resonant from the time I met her 45 years ago. And then through my films with her, like Reshma Shera, Kabhi Kabhie, Adalat, Trishul, and so many others.”
On the work front, actors Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan are set to work together once again on an upcoming film directed by TJ Gnanavel. Both actors co-starred in the 1991 movie 'Hum'.
