Katrina Kaif has established herself as one of the most successful actors in Bollywood. She has also been working in the industry for several decades now and yet continues to inspire many young women out there. In a recent interaction with Vogue India, Katrina opened up about her career.
What advice Katrina would give to her 13-year old self
When Katrina was asked what advice she would give to her 13-year-old self, Katrina said, "There’s so much I could imbibe from my younger self. Looking back, I was 18 in such a massive industry with absolutely no connections. I was extremely naive and innocent, but I had so much belief. And you know what I didn’t have? Fear. I wasn’t perplexed by nagging doubts. The absence of fear and judgment was freeing. I think that’s something I would take back from my younger self."
Katrina’s acting & business skills
Katrina also shared that she has developed a skill that has helped her in both acting and business. She said, "I’ve carried many similar traits from being an actor into being an entrepreneur and a business owner. I’ve learnt that it’s important in business to listen, and the same applies to acting. You have to really listen to collaborate."
Although Katrina owns a successful makeup brand and has worked with the best makeup artists in Bollywood, she shares that her favourite beauty advice comes from her mother. She said, "My mum has never owned any makeup in her life. But whenever you see her, no matter what has happened, she will always have a smile on her face. That is her beauty secret."
Speaking about her inner strength and about her voice being heard in films and business, Katrina opened up, "I feel like I can be quite guarded. I struggle with that and know that others do too. When I’ve had low and difficult moments in my life, what has been a great source of strength is knowing I am not alone. You can find solace and strength in knowing that we all face challenges. It’s important to share those feelings."
