New Delhi: Karan Johar returned to direction after seven years with ‘Rocky Aur Rani ki Prem Kahaani’ and worked with Ranveer Singh for the first time as a director. The filmmaker has also completed his 25 years in the film industry and recently when he was asked about the actor he would like to cast in his biopic, his choice was Ranveer.
In an interview with Pinkvilla, he was asked which actor could fit the bill for his biopic. The filmmaker replied, “Ranveer Singh. He is a chameleon. He does a great imitation of myself, and I have seen that on the sets of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Even on Koffee with Karan, he mimicked everyone to perfection. He can transform into anything. If and when this biopic is made, I would always root for Ranveer Singh to play the lead.”
The ace filmmaker also opened up about the ‘Dola Re Dola’ sequence from his last directorial, which was widely appreciated by the cine-goers. “That was a special moment for me. Both the actors put in so much work because neither of them are trained kathak dancers. It took them two months of non-stop workshops to ace the sequence. I am glad that it got them the applause,” he further said.
Karan Johar's Koffee With Karan starts
Meanwhile, Karan Johar came back with season 8 of Koffee With Karan on Thursday with Ranveer and Deepika Padukone as the first guests. The couple talked about their love story in detail, Deepika’s mental health, their relationship, marriage and more.
The surprising element of the show was the wedding video of the power couple that was screened during the show. The video made Karan Johar emotional and was all teared up after the video ended. Karan, who is single at the moment, admitted that there are moments when he feels alone and longs for a companion.
