Ridhi Dogra Recalls A Kind Gesture Of Deepika Padukone When She Was Sitting Separately On 'Jawan' Set

Ridhi Dogra tells a moving story about Deepika Padukone's compassion and kindness on the set of Shah Rukh Khan's movie 'Jawan'.

New Delhi: All previous Hindi film box office records have been shattered by the recent release of ‘Jawan’, a mass actioner starring superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Audiences have been overwhelmingly positive towards the film, which marked the Bollywood debut of Tamil filmmaker Atlee. Famous TV and streaming series actress Ridhi Dogra had a crucial role in ‘Jawan’t. Ridhi Dogra made an unexpected remark during a recent interview regarding her on-screen chemistry with Deepika Padukone in the film.

Ridhi Dogra shared a touching story that occurred on set, and it reflected well on Deepika's character. She said that Deepika showed up to the sets with her complete crew and sat together behind the monitor. The actress and her crew became friendly as filming continued.

Ridhi said she was concerned about Deepika's personal space. The actress said in an interview with Zoom, "Sometimes on sets, there are personal chats and personal banter. I remember sitting a bit behind them as I wanted to give them (Deepika) privacy, and I wanted to have privacy of my own. I could see from my peripheral vision that Deepika had pulled her chair back to sit in the same line as me. It was a very small thing, but it spoke very highly of her."

She added, "I was deeply touched by her solidarity and gratitude that we are actors together."

Ridhi Dogra played Kaveri Amma, a jailer and the adopted mother of SRK's character, Azaad, in the film Jawan. She had previously discussed her reluctance to play SRK's mother. She spoke about being conflicted on whether or not to portray a mother onscreen.

Atlee's 'Jawan' has a stellar cast that includes Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra and more. Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt both make brief appearances in the film.

'Jawan' has broken all previous records for a Hindi release in terms of box office receipts. The film has made over Rs 5 billion at the worldwide box office in only its first five days of release.
