Happy Birthday Shilpa Shetty: When The Dhadkan Actress Admitted Getting A Nose Job Because 'It Could Be Better'

Happy Birthday Shilpa Shetty! The 'Dhadkan' actress celebrates her 48th birthday today, on June 8.

New Delhi: Birthday girl Shilpa Shetty made her film debut with the 1993 smash 'Baazigar', also starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, and since then, her career has experienced numerous highs and lows. After winning celebrity reality show Big Brother in the UK, Shilpa gained recognition on a global scale. Over the past few years, she has established herself as a social media influencer and television personality. The performer, who will age 48 on Thursday, has long been renowned for her glitzy on-screen persona, and when questioned about it, she responded that she "is not apologetic about being glamorous."

Shilpa revealed that she was being offered the same kinds of roles where she didn't have a lot of acting opportunities during a conversation with Prabhu Chawla on Seedhi Baat in the early 2000s. "I was getting offered the same kind of roles where I would have small role, three songs. When I would ask people ‘What is the role?’, they would say ‘There are 5 scenes but you have 4 songs,'” she said.

Talking about sustaining her 'glamorous image', Shilpa had said, "I am not apologetic for being glamorous. It’s not a bad thing. I think it’s important to look glamorous, to look good when you are a heroine.”

Shilpa Shetty became well-known for her numerous dance performances throughout the 1990s. She admitted in the conversation that she worked extremely hard on Dharmesh Darshan's 2000 movie Dhadkan, which gave her the opportunity to perform more than she would have otherwise been given at the time. However, because the movie took five years to make, she was fully aware that she might get "out of sight, out of mind," so she chose to perform the now-famous dance number "Main Aayi Hoon UP Bihar Lootne" from the movie Shool. It was the right decision," she said.

Shilpa casually acknowledged in the same interview that she had her nose corrected because she thought it "could be better." Shilpa's candour was a breath of fresh air at the time because stars back then would not openly admit if they had undergone corrective surgery. "Yes I got my nose fixed. So? I did not do it to make it more beautiful. I did it because I thought it could be better," she added. After winning Celebrity Big Brother, Shilpa appeared in the Sky One series The Real Shilpa Shetty, where she discussed about her nose surgery.

On the work front, Shilpa Shetty has been a judge on several dance reality shows. The actress will also be seen in the movie 'Sukhee.'

We wish Shilpa Shetty a very Happy Birthday!
