Hania Aamir And Mahira Khan Slammed Online For Calling India’s Operation Sindoor ‘Cowardly’
A wave of controversy erupted when several Pakistani celebrities, including actors Hania Aamir and Mahira Khan, condemned Indian Army's Operation Sindoor, triggering intense backlash.

Following the devastating April 22 terror attack in South Kashmir’s Pahalgam — which claimed 26 innocent lives, including many tourists reportedly targeted for their religion — the Indian armed forces launched a strong retaliatory strike. On May 7, they carried out Operation Sindoor, targeting nine terror hideouts — four in Pakistan and five in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK).

The precision strike was widely praised across India and by global allies. However, a wave of controversy erupted when several Pakistani celebrities, including actors Hania Aamir and Mahira Khan, condemned the operation, triggering intense backlash.
Both Hania and Mahira voiced opposition to Operation Sindoor through social media posts — though these are currently inaccessible to Indian users after the Indian government blocked the accounts of Pakistani artists following the Pahalgam attack.
Still, screenshots of their posts are circulating widely on Twitter via NRIs, leading to a storm of criticism. Many users are slamming the actors for labelling the retaliatory strike "cowardly," calling out their silence during the April 22 massacre.
How netizens reacted
One angry user posted: "I'd like Mahira Khan to answer this since you broke your silence about our Operation Sindoor. Where were you when those terrorists killed our people just because they weren't Muslim? Where were you when 26 of ours were killed? Allah tumhari nahi, hamari raksha kare tum jaiso se."

Another netizen echoed the sentiment: "Hania Aamir is calling the Indian Army coward. Iske baad bhi if someone is simping over her while living in India then I don't know what to say. And some were also asking government that ki 'actors ko ban krne se terrorist mil jayenge kya' 🤡 Glad that government banned these people."
