Dharmendra Shares An Unseen Throwback Photo On Raj Kapoor's 99th Birth Anniversary

Dharmendra celebrated Raj Kapoor's birth anniversary by sharing an unseen black & white photo.

New Delhi: The great Raj Kapoor was a major figure in Indian cinematic history due to his many accomplishments in acting. Tributes to the late actor have been pouring in online in celebration of his 99th birthday today. Actor Dharmendra often interacts with his followers on Twitter and Instagram. On December 14, the seasoned actor celebrated Raj Kapoor's birth anniversary by posting an unseen photo from his personal scrapbook.

Dharmendra posted a priceless flashback photo of himself and Raj Kapoor on social media on Thursday morning. It seems like the black-and-white photo was taken at an event; the two actors are seated next to each other in matching outfits. Holding hands in the photo, they were completely absorbed in what looked like a discussion.

Sharing this nostalgic gem, Dharmendra expressed his sorrow for Raj Kapoor and remembered him with immense affection and reverence. He wrote, “Happy Birthday Raj sahab we miss you!….. You will always be remembered with great love and respect.”

It was in the 1970 film 'Mera Naam Joker' that Dharmendra and Raj Kapoor collaborated; the film was also directed, edited, and produced by Raj Kapoor.

Former actor Shatrughan Sinha also sent a heartfelt message to Raj Kapoor, wishing him a happy birthday and sharing fond memories of the greatest 'showman' of all time. Taking to X, he wrote,  "Rich tributes, memories, birthday wishes for the greatest 'showman' ever #RajKapoor. Truly blessed to have worked with the genius supremely talented filmmaker, actor #RajKapoor."

He added, "Knowing him & especially working with him was the greatest learning experience ever. He rules our hearts even today through his films & most melodious songs. Profound regards to his family. Long Live Raj Kapoor! Happy Birthday."
