Deepika Padukone Was Pregnant While Filming 'Kalki 2898 AD' Climax, Shares Co-Star Saswata Chatterjee
Deepika Padukone was expecting a child in the last days of production for Nag Ashwin's Kalki 2898 AD.
New Delhi: Some fascinating behind-the-scenes information on the shooting of the climactic sequence for Nag Ashwin's ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ was revealed by actor Saswata Chatterjee in a recent interview. The actor, who portrayed Commander Manas, recently talked about Deepika Padukone's pregnancy while filming the role of SU-M80 (Sumathi), the pregnant test subject.
Saswata Chatterjee claims that Deepika was pregnant when she did physically hard sequences for her part in ‘Kalki 2898 AD’. Ashwatthama (Amitabh Bachchan) and Saswata's character got into a fight in the last scene, and Ashwatthama yanks SU-M80 away by her hair, as Saswata recounted.
Saswata Chatterjee told News18, “Deepika is just ever-smiling. There is a scene in the film where I drag her by the hair. It was part of the last leg of the shoot and was shot in Mumbai because Deepika was pregnant by then. There was a lot of physical tussle in the scene, so I told Ranveer, don’t worry, for more physically challenging scenes, there’s a body double.” He remembered the soon-to-be father's reaction, "I know, Dada," and praised him for being courteous.
