Arshad Warsi Says 'I'll Love Every Actor For The Rest Of My Life' After Facing Backlash For Calling Prabhas 'Joker'

Arshad Warsi recently discussed the backlash he received following his remarks about Prabhas’ character in 'Kalki 2898 AD'.

New Delhi: Arshad Warsi's viral comment comparing Prabhas to a "joker" in the film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ caused quite a stir. Arshad Warsi was the target of online abuse and trolling after this statement. Now, in a recent interview, the 56-year-old actor said that he was initially impacted by the criticism but has subsequently come to ignore it.

Speaking to India Today, Arshad Warsi said that he considered the dark side of popularity, pointing out that being the centre of attention always comes with its fair share of criticism.

The actor said, “Honestly, it's okay. Everyone has their point of view. Also, it's a democratic country, and everyone is allowed to speak in it. If you are a positive person, anything negative does bother you. However, we have been at a place where stones are thrown, so it doesn't bother me anymore.”

He stressed that he has progressed to the point where criticism like this no longer impacts him. "However, we have been at a place where stones are thrown, so it doesn't bother me anymore,"  Arshad said.

Arshad joked, "I have decided that I will love every film that I watch. I will love every actor for the rest of my life," in response to a question about whether the experience had taught him to be more careful with his public statements.

Arshad Warsi’s Remark on Prabhas

The backlash started earlier this year when in an interview with Samdish Bhatia, Arshad Warsi voiced his distaste for Prabhas' performance in Nag Ashwin’s sci-fi ‘Kalki 2898 AD’. The actor said, “Prabhas, I am really sad. He was like a joker. Why? I want to see a Mad Max. I want to see Mel Gibson over there. Tumne usko kya bana dia yaar. Kyu karte ho aisa mujhe nahi samajh mein aata (What have you done to him? I don't understand why you do this).”

On the work front, Arshad Warsi is busy preparing for his role in 'Jolly LLB 3'.  He will also be seen in Arbaaz Khan's 'Banda Singh Chaudhary', which will also feature Meher Vij. The movie is set to release on October 25.
