New Delhi: Actor-producer Arbaaz Khan is enjoying his newlywed life with his wife Shura Khan, whom he married on December 24 in an intimate ceremony at his sister Arpita Khan Sharma’s house. Around the time of his wedding his ex-girlfriend Giorgia Andriani spoke about their breakup in various interviews, a decision Arbaaz deemed "unnecessary and inappropriate."
In an interview with indianexpress.com, Arbaaz clarified the timeline of his relationship with Giorgia, emphasizing that it had ended nearly two years before he met Shura. He expressed frustration at the implications drawn from recent interviews, stating, "It is unfortunate that I have to sit here and make such clarification." Arbaaz stressed that there was a significant gap between his past relationship and his current marriage.
“I know some of the recent interviews somehow give the feeling that things were right till the end, which is not true. It is unfortunate that I have to sit here and make such clarification but my previous relationship was over almost one and half years before I even met Shura. I had a year of dating period with her. There was no timeline given in those interviews and such interviews make people believe that ‘Oh I moved from this into that’. But that’s not true. I was not dating anyone for almost a year and a half till I met Shura. That is the reality,” he was quoted as saying by Indian Express.
Giorgia Andriani, in a separate interview with Hindustan Times in December 2023, spoke about their breakup, describing it as a mutual decision stemming from differing future plans. She emphasised her continued friendship with Arbaaz but drew criticism from him for discussing their relationship publicly, especially around the time of his wedding.
“The timing of somebody speaking about a breakup just around the time I was getting married and post my marriage, seems a little inappropriate. If you have broken up almost two years back and you didn’t have the option to speak about it then, then to speak about it now, doesn’t seem right,” he said.
Arbaaz believes that discussing personal relationships in public is inappropriate, asserting that Giorgia should have refrained from commenting on their past.
Arbaaz was earlier married to Malaika Arora, they separated in 2017 and co-parent their son Arhaan Khan, who was present at the actor’s marriage with Shura.
