Anurag Kashyap Calls Kangana Ranaut 'Finest Actor', Adds 'But It Is Very Difficult To Deal With Her'
Anurag Kashyap, who has worked with Kangana Ranaut in 'Queen', called her the ‘finest actor’ but a difficult person to deal with.
New Delhi: Kangana Ranaut and Anurag Kashyap are at the opposite end of the spectrum when it comes to their ideological differences. The filmmaker, who has worked with the actor in 'Queen', called her the ‘finest actor’ but a difficult person to deal with.
Anurag, who is busy promoting his film ‘Haddi, spoke to Jist along with his co-actor Zeeshan Ayyub and during the interaction, an audience member asked Zeeshan and Kashyap to describe their experiences working with Kangana.
Zeeshan said, “There was a time when Kangana as an actor, was superlative.” Anurag said, “She is the finest actor. She is very sincere when it comes to work, there are other problems that she has. However, when it comes to her talent, nobody can snatch that away from her. What she has in herself, as an actor, as a sincere critique also, but yes, it is very difficult to deal with her.”
Zeeshan has worked with Kangana in Aanand L. Rai's romantic comedy Tanu Weds Manu Returns (2015) and in Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi (2019).
Anurag and Kangana’s collaboration ‘Queen’ was directed by Vikas Bahl under Phantom Films which was co-owned by Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane, Madhu Mantena, and Vikas.
A few years ago, the filmmaker spoke about the actor on Twitter and said that he doesn’t know the “new Kangana”. He wrote, “Kal Kangana ka interview dekha. Ek samay main meri bahut achchi dost hua karti thi. Meri har film pe aake mera hausla badhati thi. Lekin iss nayi Kangana ko main nahi jaanta. Aur uska yeh darawana interview bhi dekha jo Manikarnika ki release ke bilkul baad ka hai (I saw Kangana’s interview last night. She used to be a really good friend of mine. She would always motivate me for my films. But I don’t know this new Kangana. I saw a frightening interview of her which was recorded after the release of Manikarnika.) (sic).”
He further tweeted, “Only you can save us, sister — the one true Manikarnika. Take four or five people with you and fight China. See how far inside our territory they’ve come. Show them that India has nothing to worry about until such time as you’re there to protect us. The LAC is just a day’s journey from your house. Go, our tigress. Jai Hind.”
Kangana had replied to the Tweet and wrote, “I am a warrior. I can allow my head to be severed, but won’t bow it. I will always raise my voice for the honour of my nation. I live with honour, respect, self-respect and will live proudly as a nationalist! I will never compromise with my principles. I will never do it! Jai Hind.”
