Amitabh Bachchan Posts 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' Amid Buzz On Bid To Rename India

On X (formerly Twitter), Amitabh Bachchan remarked "Bharat Mata ki jai" amid India's name change controversy.

New Delhi: Superstar Amitabh Bachchan sent a "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" message on X (previously Twitter). Given that the Narendra Modi-led government may forward a proposal to rename India as Bharat during the forthcoming session of Parliament, the actor's tweet is not unexpected. The upcoming Parliament’s special session, set to take place from September 18-22, is when the government is most likely to introduce a resolution to rename India as Bharat.

On Tuesday, Amitabh Bachchan wrote “T 4759 - भारत माता की जय (T 4759 - Bharat Mata Ki Jai)" with an Indian flag emoji on X (previously known as Twitter) as talk of renaming India gained traction.

Although Big B's tweet seems to be completely harmless. Speculations about India's possible rebranding as the Republic of Bharat have been on the rise recently. In case you haven't heard, there have been rumours that India would be renamed Bharat. After G20 dinner invitations from the President's House read "President of India," rather than "President of Bharat," tensions between the two terms have flared again.

An invitation to the G20 dinner on September 9 was reportedly sent out by Rashtrapati Bhavan in the name of "President of Bharat" rather than "President of India," as the Congress party claimed. Many prominent politicians voiced their disapproval of the same.

According to an earlier report in Times Now, the Narendra Modi administration is planning to introduce a new resolution to rename India as Bharat during the Special Session of Parliament.

Many people took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to express their opinions on the matter, sparking a political controversy. Big B’s tweet also came just around this controversy. Under his post, some people wrote "Bharat" while others wrote "India" to express their opinion.
