Alia Bhatt Writes Emails To Raha, Says She Tries To Impart Lessons Inspired By 'Indian Scriptures'

Raha's face was made public on Christmas after Alia and her husband, Ranbir Kapoor, had kept their daughter out of the public eye for some time.

New Delhi: Alia Bhatt is one actress who knows how to shatter any glass ceiling. Whether it's balancing a film on her shoulders, raising a child while putting on a powerful performance, eloquently advocating for climate change, or just being genuine on social media.

Raha's face was made public on Christmas after Alia and her husband, Ranbir Kapoor, had kept their daughter out of the public eye for some time. In an interview with Glass Magazine, the actress disclosed that, as a working mother who hires professionals to watch her kid during filming, she has initiated an odd ritual to strengthen her relationship with her daughter. "I send my daughter emails. Alia added, "I started doing this the month she was born. I also send her pictures."

Alia, who wants her daughter to be her own person, added, “I created an email ID and I write to her. Recently, I found myself writing her an email, saying, ‘I’m not one to tell you what to do. Even as your mother, I want you to be your own person. The only thing I wish for you is to be kind and work hard, no matter what you do in life. Work hard on yourself, relationships, and your career. Just go through the day being kind.”

In November 2022, Raha was born. One valuable lesson Alia wishes to teach her kid is the value of kindness in all situations. She emphasises the need of treating others nicely, even on a bad day. Referring to Indian scriptures, she continued, “No matter how terrible a day you are having, just be kind to people because you don’t know where anyone else is coming from. It’s something that goes way back into Indian scriptures. There’s a certain way that you conduct yourself. You should always treat people the way you want to be treated. That’s the only thing I will say. And I feel like a lot of that gets lost.”

Alia had explained why she didn't want to reveal Raha's face during Hindustan Times' Leadership Summit earlier. She said, "I don’t want it to seem like I am hiding my daughter. I am proud of her. If the cameras were not rolling right now, I would put a giant image of her on the screen. I love her. I am proud of our baby. But we are new parents. We don’t know how we feel about her face splashed all over the internet; she’s barely a year old.”

Both Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are doting parents to Raha and love spending time with their daughter.
