Aamir Khan Talks About Teaming Up With Shah Rukh & Salman, Shares Update On Andaz Apna Apna Sequel

Bollywood’s three biggest superstars—Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Salman Khan—might just share the screen in the future, but only if the perfect script comes their way.

Bollywood’s three biggest superstars—Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Salman Khan—might just share the screen in the future, but only if the perfect script comes their way. Aamir, who turns 60 on March 14, opened up about the much-anticipated collaboration during a media interaction ahead of his birthday.

Aamir Khan on working with Salman and SRK

“Salman, Shah Rukh, and I would love to work together… We are waiting for the right script to come. I think the audience also wants to see us together, and we have discussed it as well. If any good story comes (our way), we will definitely do it,” Aamir told reporters.

While Salman and Aamir delivered the cult comedy ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ in 1994, Aamir has never shared screen space with Shah Rukh. However, Salman and Shah Rukh have worked together in films such as ‘Karan Arjun’ (1995), ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ (1998), ‘Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam’ (2005), and most recently, ‘Pathaan’ (2023).

On a sequel to Andaz Apna Apna

Addressing rumours about a follow-up to the much-loved Andaz Apna Apna, Aamir confirmed that a sequel is something even the original cast wants to happen.

“We all want Andaz Apna Apna 2 to be made. We have told Raj ji (director Rajkumar Santoshi) that we are interested in working on it, and I think the audience also wants to see the film. We are waiting for him. He is currently working on the script,” he shared.

Aamir sends best Wishes to Salman for Sikandar

Before wrapping up, Aamir took a moment to wish Salman Khan all the best for his upcoming action film Sikandar, which is set to hit screens on Eid.

“Best wishes to Salman as his film Sikandar is coming on Eid. Many, many congratulations and all the very best from my side. We are all waiting for it. A.R. Murugadoss, with whom I did Ghajini, is a fantastic director, so it will be exciting to see what he and Salman bring together. So all the very best,” Aamir said.

On Sitaare Zameen Par

The actor also shared details about his upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par, which he described as a “thought sequel” to his 2007 directorial ‘Taare Zameen Par’.

“…The characters and situations are different… But in my opinion, this thought goes ten times beyond that. One major difference is that Taare Zameen Par made you cry, but this one will make you laugh. It’s a comedy, a humorous film that carries a meaningful message,” he explained.

Taare Zameen Par, which was also Aamir’s directorial debut, told the heartfelt story of a young boy with dyslexia and his journey toward self-confidence.
