Aamir Khan 'Put His Life At Stake' By Not Attending An Underworld Organised Party In The 90s, Says Film Producer
Aamir Khan recently received praise from film producer Mahaveer Jain, who recalled how Aamir had jeopardised his safety by declining to attend a party that was hosted by the underworld in the 1990s.
New Delhi: Bollywood actor Aamir Khan recently received praise from film producer Mahaveer Jain, whose credits include Ram Setu and Good Luck Jerry. He recalled how Aamir had jeopardised his safety by declining to attend a party that was hosted by the underworld in the 1990s.
During an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Mahaveer said, "In the ’90s, the underworld was ruling the film industry. All film stars had to accept the invitations and visit the Middle East for their parties. But Aamir bhai put his life at stake. He never agreed to it. He is a man of principles.”
When he was appearing on the television programme Satyamev Jayate, Aamir refused to endorse a few businesses since he was so sensitive about his morals. The film producer added, “For almost 3 years, he did not advertise for 4-5 brands which he used to endorse. This is because he felt that ‘Satyamev Jayate’ is a serious show and an ad featuring him, coming in between the show, would reduce its seriousness. So he decided to let go of all endorsements.”
The producer added, “Aamir Khan is one of the finest human beings, but is highly misunderstood. He’s probably one of the most misunderstood celebrities in our country. Sometimes, social media perception and reality can be two different things. Anyone who knows Aamir bhai personally would say the same thing.”
Aamir was characterised by Mahaveer Jain as a man who shuns "name, fame, money, and power" and does not participate in the rat race.
Aamir Khan was most last seen in the movie Laal Singh Chaddha in a lead role alongwith appearing in Kajol starrer 'Salam Venky' in a cameo. The actor hasn't yet disclosed what his upcoming project is. In a recent interview, the actor declared that he will only act in a movie when he is "emotionally" prepared for it. “I haven’t signed any film yet. I just want to spend time with my family and I am doing just that. When I am emotionally ready to do a film, I will definitely do it,” Aamir said.
