AR Rahman Shares Cryptic Post With Image Of 'Goddess Tamil' Amid Amit Shah's Hindi Pitch Controversy

Amit Shah had pointed out the fact that individuals from various states should communicate with one another in Hindi.

New Delhi: A R Rahman, the Oscar-winning composer and music director, took to social media on Friday to post about "Beloved Tamil" in response to Amit Shah's comment that individuals from other states should speak with each other in Hindi and not English.

The 37th meeting of the Parliamentary Business Language Committee was presided over by Amit Shah, the committee's chairman and Home Minister. Amit Shah, who spoke during the gathering, provided an overview of the history of the Hindi language and its evolution.

Amit Shah had pointed out the fact that individuals from various states should communicate with one another in Hindi and that Hindi should be considered as a viable alternative to the English language.

AR Rahman, a legendary composer, is well-known for his affinity for Tamil as a medium of communication. He tweeted a banner showcasing the importance of Tamil and what it means to Tamilians.

Image of a lady carrying a staff with Tamil letter "Lazha" on it was tweeted by Rahman. Tamil has a special letter that is only used in the language. Poster named "Tamizhanangu'' (Tamil Angel) included words from Bharathidasan's revolutionary poetry on it. 

The sentence reads,  "Inba Thamizh Engal Urimai Sempayirukku Vaer'' which means "Delightful Tamil is the root of the staple crop of our rights.” 

AR Rahman's photograph of Thamizhanangu has also gained widespread attention on social media. He shared the photograph on Twitter at 11 p.m. Friday night, and it has gotten more than 13,000 retweets since then.
