New Delhi: Virat Kohli on Sunday scored a Test century against Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium after almost three years. Anushka Sharma being her biggest cheerleader, took to Instagram and praised his performance.
Sharing a video of Virat from the Sunday test match, Anushka wrote, “Playing through sickness with this composure. Inspiring me always.”
Virat Kohli's batting masterclass on Sunday, his incredible knock of 186 vs mighty Australia in Ahmedabad, helped him put an end to over a three-year wait for a much-awaited century in whites. He scored his last Test century against Bangladesh in November 2019.
The couple, who tied the knot five years back on December 11, 2017, in Tuscany, has grown stronger with time and has given major relationship goals to people. Virat Kohli recently spoke about Anushka and said she has made 'massive sacrifices' as a mother in the last two years.
On the RCB podcast hosted by Danish Sait, Virat said, "The way things have been in the past two years, we have had our child and, as a mother, the sacrifices she made have been massive. Looking at her, I realised whatever problems I had were nothing. As far as expectations are concerned, as long as your family loves you for who you are, you don’t expect much because that is the basic requirement.”
When asked about a life-changing moment, he said it was when he met his lady love. “When I met Anushka… Because I saw a different side of life. It wasn’t the same as my environment. It was a different perspective, a different point-of-view. When you fall in love, you start processing those changes within you, as well. Because you have to move together, and to do that you have to open yourself up, you have to accept a lot of things… You share ideas, you share perspectives, which I had never seen in my life,” he said during the podcast.
Anushka and Virat welcomed their daughter Vamika in 2021. Anushka, who took a break after Vamika was born, will be seen now in the sports drama ‘Chakda ‘Xpress’, in which she’ll play the Indian pace bowler Jhulan Goswami.
