Aayush Sharma Pens Farewell Note For Grandfather & Ex-Union Minister Sukh Ram Who Died Today
Sharing a farewell note on Instagram, Aayush Sharma wrote, “With a very heavy heart I bid farewell to my beloved Dadaji Pandit Sukh Ram Sharma.
New Delhi: Aayush Sharma is the grandson of former politician Pandit Sukh Ram Sharma, who passed away on Wednesday. The actor penned a note on his loss and shared it on his official Instagram handle. Aayush's father Anil Sharma and brother Aashray Sharma are also politicians.
Sharing a farewell note on Instagram, Aayush wrote, “With a very heavy heart I bid farewell to my beloved Dadaji Pandit Sukh Ram Sharma. Even though you're gone, I know you'll always be with me, guiding me, looking over me and blessing me like you always do. Rest in peace dadaji, you will be dearly missed.”
Pandit Sukh Ram Sharma was airlifted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences after suffering a brain stroke in Manali, Himachal Pradesh on May 7. The 94-year old was undergoing treatment at the hospital where he died at 1:35 AM.
The Congress leader's body will be kept at Seri Manch in Himachal Pradesh's Mandi for people to pay their last respects on Thursday, Aashray Sharma said.
Aashray also took to his official Facebook handle to share news of his loss. "Alvida dadajee, abhi nahi bajegee phone ki ghanti (Goodbye grandfather, the phone won't ring now),"
Sukh Ram was the Union Minister of State, Communications (Independent Charge) from 1993 to 1996 in the Narsimha Rao government. While the then government was taking steps for economic reforms, Sukh Ram introduced telephony to his hill state. He connected even the remotest villages in Himachal as several communication towers were installed despite its difficult topography.
He was a member of Lok Sabha from the Mandi constituency of Himachal Pradesh. He won the Vidhan Sabha elections five times and the Lok Sabha elections thrice.
