New Delhi: The 69th edition of the National Film Awards is here. The jury of the special awards will announce the winner list for the year 2021-2022 will be announced at the National Media Centre in New Delhi. Joju George, Suriya, Ram Charan, R Madhavan are in the race for the Best Actor (National Film Award). Best film contenders are many and there would be a tough fight for sure as for the finalist and winner.

Among Bollywood actors, there are chief chances of Alia Bhatt and Kangana Ranaut getting Best Actor( female) award for their performances in 'Gangubai Kathiawadi'( 2022) and 'Thalaivii'( 2021) respectively.
Kangana Ranaut is already a multiple National Award-winning actor having won it three times for 'Queen', 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns',and 'Manikarnika: the Queen of Jhansi' and 'Panga' as well. Kangana also has a National Award for Best Actor in Supporting Role for her film 'Fashion' which was headlined by Priyanka Chopra.
Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt recently won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor for 'Gangubai Kathiawadi'.
In the Southern film industry front, SS Rajamouli can take home many awards thanks to RRR's performance at the box office and global felicitation the film received, even bringing India an Oscar in the Best Song category.
‘RRR’ also brought Ram Charan, Jr. NTR, MM Keeravani a lot of attention.
MM Keeravani's 'Naatu Naatu' competed with nominees that included Rihanna's Lift Me Up from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, This Is A Life from Everything Everywhere All at Once, Applause from Tell It Like a Woman, and Lady Gaga's Hold My Hand from Top Gun: Maverick.
As for fan favourites, Malayalam film 'Nayattu' starring Kunchako Boban, Joju George and Nimisha Sajayan and Suriya's 'Jai Bhim' are major contenders for the Best Film National Award.

Esha Deol took to Instagram to express gratitude as her short film 'Ek Duaa' received a special mention at the 69th National Awards. 'Ek Duaa' is her first project as a producer. She wrote, “Over the moon as my film Ek Duaa has won at the 69th National Awards. As a producer and actor in this film to get this recognition in the non-feature special mention award means the world to me. The subject of our film is about female foeticide, save the girl child and for this to get recognition at the National awards is so overwhelming. I want to thank everyone and specially my fans for their love, support, prayers and duaas.
