Uttarakhand Polls 2022: Congress' Harish Rawat Shares Video Claiming Ballot Tampering, Asks EC To Take Action
Rawat’s spokesperson Surendra Kumar refused to reveal the source of the video and said it is from Uttarakhand.
New Delhi: Congress general secretary Harish Rawat posted a video on social media on Tuesday which shows a man apparently filling out multiple ballot papers and signing them.
Along with the video, Rawat wrote, "Sharing a short video for everyone's information. It shows how one man at an army center is ticking and signing several ballot papers. Will the Election Commission take cognisance of this?"
Rawat’s spokesperson Surendra Kumar refused to reveal the source of the video and said it is from Uttarakhand.

According to a report by news agency PTI, Congress has not made an official complaint to the Election Commission yet. They called it a “mockery of democracy.” The party members urged the Election Commission to take a suo motu cognisance in the matter.
The Leader of Opposition in Uttarakhand assembly Pritam Singh retweeted the video and wrote, “In this video that makes a mockery of democracy, a man at an army centre is seen ticking and signing several postal ballot papers in favour of the party of his choice.”
However, BJP denied any such activity saying that it is only Congress’ frustration as they can see their defeat in the assembly elections.
"The Congress is resorting to such tactics as it is aware that it has failed to mislead people. In the face of its imminent defeat the party which was talking earlier about manipulation of EVMs is now talking about ballot papers. It shows the party's frustration," Pradesh BJP media incharge Manveer Singh Chauhan was quoted as saying by PTI.
Chauhan also added that the army should be kept out of politics, and Congress should cross check authenticity before levelling such allegations.
Uttarakhand assembly elections took place on February 14. The results of the assembly elections will be announced on March 10, 2022.
