New Delhi: In Lucknow, some people threw ink at Kanhaiya Kumar. The incident took place at the Congress party office.
The ink was thrown at Kanhaiya Kumar when he reached there to participate in the nomination of Congress candidate for Lucknow Central seat, Sadaf Zafar.
In this regard, Congress leaders claim that the thrown is not an ink but a kind of acid. However, fortunately, acid allegedly did not fall on Kanhaiya Kumar.
When the ink was thrown, a few drops have fallen on 3-4 youths standing nearby.
Congress has fielded actress, social activist Sadaf Zafar from Lucknow Central seat.
Sadaf Zafar hails from Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh. She has been a teacher and actress by profession.
At present, she has been associated with Congress, as a social activist.
Significantly, Sadaf Zafar has played the role of an actress in filmmaker Mira Nair's 'A Suitable Boy.'
Her performance in this film was highly appreciated. She is currently living in Lucknow with her two children.
She was arrested from Lucknow by the UP Police during the ongoing protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
She was arrested in 2009. Sadaf Zafar is currently out of jail on bail after her arrest on charges of rioting and murder.
Political activities in the state are at their peak in the wake of the upcoming assembly elections in UP.
All the parties are trying to form the government by winning as many seats as possible.
At the same time, the Election Commission is also trying its best to ensure free and fair voting. The election will be held in the state in seven phases and vote counting will take place on March 10.
