UP Became Mafia Centre Under 'Bua-Bhateeja', Amit Shah Takes Dig At Akhilesh, Mayawati

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday attacked the opposition parties by saying that the state has become a mafia centre under 'bua-bhateeja' rule of both the SP and BSP.

New Delhi: Ahead of the upcoming Uttar Pradesh assembly elections 2022, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday attacked the opposition parties by saying that the state had become a mafia centre under 'bua-bhateeja' rule of both the Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party.

While addressing a gathering in UP’s Sahaswan, Union Home Minister Shah said, "Now mafias are present at 3 locations only, either out of UP, in Budaun jail, or as an SP candidate. Has anyone seen Mulayam Yadav's sidekicks Azam Khan, Mukhtar Ansari in the last 3 years?"

He also slammed SP over showing green light to the mafia and red light to the development. "Akhilesh Yadav (SP chief) will play a game of red light-green light. He'll show a red light to development & green light to mafias," he added.

UP Election 2022

The upcoming elections in Uttar Pradesh will be held in seven phases: February 10, February 14, February 20, February 23, February 27, March 3, and March 7.

The ballots will be counted on March 10, 2022.

The number of polling stations has been increased to 1,74,351 with 15,05,82,750 registered voters on the electoral registers.

The BJP, spearheaded by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is vying for power, and the saffron party's senior leaders have begun campaigning.

On the other side, Samajwadi Party chief and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav is attempting a return in the state and has begun a state-wide trip as part of his "Samajwadi Vijay Yatra."
