UP Election 2022 | Amit Shah Warns RLD’s Jayant Chaudhary, Ups The Ante Against Akhilesh Yadav

Shah highlighted the dispute between Samajwadi chief Akhilesh Yadav and party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav to entice the RLD leader and ensure the Jats vote for the BJP.

New Delhi: With just days left for the high-voltage Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday attempted to reach out to Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) leader Jayant Chaudhary and said his voice won’t be heard if the Samajwadi Party forms the government in the state.

Shah highlighted the dispute between Samajwadi chief Akhilesh Yadav and party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav to entice the RLD leader and ensure the Jats vote for the BJP.

“Jayant babu doesn’t know that if SP forms the government, his voice will be drowned,” Shah said in Bulandshahr, India Today reported.

“One who didn’t listen to his father and family won't listen to you. Azam Khan will walk out of jail and he will sit there,” he added.

Reaching out to the voters, Shah said: “Where are Azam Khan, Atique Ahmed, Mukhtar Ansari? In jail. If you commit the mistake of bringing the SP government to power then they will come out.”

“Should they come out? Should SP government be formed?” he asked, ANI reported.

Escalating his attack on the Samajwadi Party chief, the Home Minister said: “Akhilesh babu used to say in every election that BJP raises the slogan of ‘mandir wahin banaenge’. He used to say ‘mandir wahin banaenge, tithi nahi bataenge’.”

Shah said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has laid the foundation of the grand Ram temple and started its construction.

Asserting the 2022 assembly elections is not ordinary, Shah said that this would decide the next 25 years of Uttar Pradesh.

“I would like to tell the youth that you gave opportunity to SP-BSP for 15 years, those governments left UP a very backward state,” he added.

Voting for the 403-member Uttar Pradesh Assembly will be held in seven phases from February 10 to March 7.

The counting of votes will be held on March 10.
