UP Election 2022: Samajwadi Party Founder Mulayam Singh Yadav Campaigns For Son Akhilesh In Karhal

UP Assembly Election 2022: Addressing a gathering at Karhal, Mulayam Singh Yadav said his party's priority was the welfare of farmers and to provide them facilities for irrigation.

New Delhi: Ahead of voting in the third phase of Uttar Pradesh election, Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav campaigned for his son Akhilesh Yadav in Mainpuri district's Karhal on Thursday.

Akhilesh Yadav is contesting from Karhal in Mainpuri, which votes on February 20. Addressing a gathering at Karhal, Mulayam Singh Yadav said his party's priority was the welfare of farmers and to provide them facilities for irrigation, seeds and fertilizers for increased productivity.

He said that only farmers, youth, and traders would strengthen the country. "Farmers, youth & businessmen will make India strong.  A huge number of people are present here in the rally, I assure you we will work for development," said Mulayam.

Mulayam said, "If the Samajwadi Party forms government, it will ensure jobs for the youth. If the youth does not have means of livelihood, how will they look after their families?"

While showering his praise on the large crowd that turned up at his rally SP founder expressed, “Today, I am very happy to be among you all. There is a huge crowd here, this is proving that the people want the SP government to be formed here”.

For the first time after the 2019 Lok Sabha election, the Samajwadi Party founder campaigned at a poll rally. Age and ill-health have reduced Mulayam Singh's political activity in recent years.

From the Karhal assembly seat, BJP has fielded Union Minister and Mulayam's aide SP Singh Baghel against Akhilesh. It is being said that BJP has taken this decision with a very well-thought-out strategy.

Meanwhile, Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah also held rallies in Firozabad, Karhal and Shikohabad today. During this, his target was Samajwadi Party, BSP, and Congress. He said that the name Samajwadi Party is a socialist.

He accused Akhilesh of nepotism and said, “During the SP government, 45 people from Akhilesh ji's family held different posts. They think only of their own family and their own people. They do not care about the society.”

He also lashed out at SP for carrying out an attack on SP Singh Baghel in Karhal, "SP Singh Baghel ji is a BJP leader, he was attacked a few days back. Samajwadi Party people thought that BJP leaders would be scared of such an attack? On the contrary, BJP leaders will now campaign with more strength and win the elections," Shah added.
