Telangana Polls: BJP Releases 4th List Of Candidates, Congress Turncoat Krishna Reddy Gets Ticket
The Congress party has released its fourth list of 12 candidates for the upcoming November 30 Telangana Legislative Assembly polls.
The Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday released its fourth list of 12 candidates for the upcoming Assembly polls in Telangana. With the latest, the saffron party has announced the names of 100 candidates so far for the 119-member Telangana Legislative Assembly polls to be held in a single phase on November 30.
For the remaining 19 seats, the party is expected to offer some seats to its NDA ally, actor-turned-politician, Pawan Kalyan-led Janasena, as per a PTI report.
The candidates announced by the party includes: Durgam Ashok (Chennur-SC), V Subhash Reddy (Yellareddy constituency), Tula Uma (Vemulawada), Bomma Sriram Chakravarthy (Husnabad), Doodi Srikanth Reddy (Siddipet), Peddinti Naveen Kumar (Vikarabad-SC), Bantu Ramesh Kumar (Kodangal), Boya Shiva (Gadwal), Sadineni Srinivas (Miryalguda), Chalamala Krishna Reddy (Munugode), Nakarakanti Mogulaiah (Nakrekal-SC) and Azmeera Prahlad Naik (Mulug-ST).
Chalamala Krishna Reddy, a Congress leader who recently joined the BJP has been given a ticket to contest the polls from Munugode. The BJP had earlier nominated Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy from this seat for the bypoll that was held last year but the leader quit the party and switched sides with Congress.
Meanwhile, the Congress party on Monday released its third list of 16 candidates fielding its state unit chief Revanth Reddy against Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao from the Kamareddy assembly constituency.
This would be the second seat from where sitting Malkajgiri MP Revanth Reddy would contest the polls after already being nominated from the Kodangal assembly seat.
Another sitting Lok Sabha MP N Uttam Kumar Reddy will also contest the polls who has been fielded from the Huzurnagar assembly constituency. He currently represents the Nalgonda Lok Sabha seat in Telangana.
There are only three candidates that the party has to announce as it seeks to wrest power from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi in the southern state.
