'We Are United': Ashok Gehlot On Power Tussle With Sachin Pilot Ahead Of Rajasthan Polls

Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot said that everyone was united in the ruling Congress party as he spoke on power tussle with Sachin Pilot ahead of Rajasthan polls.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Thursday said that everyone in the party was united as he responded to a question on his power tussle with his former deputy Sachin Pilot ahead of Rajasthan polls. He also said that he has not opposed to any single cadidate from Pilot's camp.

Ties between Gehlot and Pilot had been sour for some time which accelerated in April this year when Pilot went on a day-long fast against his own party's government. Pilot demanded that a probe be launched by the Gehlot government into charges of graft by previous Vasundhara Raje dispensation.

"We are all united," Gehlot said at a press conference on Thursday adding he has "not opposed" any single candidate of Pilot' camp.

The polls to 200-member Rajasthan Assembly will be held on Novermber 25 and the votes will be counted on December 3.

While the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party has released its list of 41 candidates for the upcoming polls, nominating six Members of Parliament in key constituencies, the incumbent Congress is yet to announce its list of candidates. The party has also not put off covers from the name for the race of chief minister in the state.

On delay in the announcement of Congress' CM Candidate in Rajasthan, CM Ashok Gehlot said, "This is the pain of the opposition regarding the selection process is that why are there no differences in the Congress party."

"party. I am sure you are talking about Sachin Pilot. All the decisions are being made by everyone's opinion. I am participating in the decisions of Sachin Pilot's supporters, in their favour. Only the BJP is concerned with smooth decision-making," he added.

"A woman once told me that god willingly  you should become CM for the fourth time. So, I told her that I want to leave the CM post but this post is not leaving me," he added.
