'Gundagardi Hai Ye...': Rajasthan CM Gehlot On ED Action Against Minister, Son Ahead Of Polls

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Thursday slammed BJP-led Centre over the actions of the ED against his minister Govind Singh Dotasra and son Vaibhav Gehlot.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Thursday slammed the Bharatiya Janta Party-led Centre over the actions of the Enforcement Directorate against his minister Govind Singh Dotasra in connection with the alleged exam paper leak case earlier in the day. The enforcement agency also issued summons to CM Gehlot's son Vaibhav in a Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) violation case on the same day.

"...Gundagardi hai yeh (this is hooliganism)...Without pressure from the top neither ED nor CBI can come," Gehlot said in a veiled attack to the ruling BJP during a press conference.

The ED action comes to close to the heels of upcoming assembly polls in the state.

Rajasthan Congress chief Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, who was also present in the press conference, called it a "black day for democracy" as he denounced the actions ahead of the polls.

"...This is a black day for democracy. This has never happened before during elections. A new trend has begun in Rajasthan and the Congress-ruled states that go to polls," he said.

"I would like to ask BJP Govt if they have anything else except IT, ED and CBI. Congress will not be scared. BJP should show the symbols of ED, CBI and IT along with its 'Lotus' symbol," he added.

Congress leader RC Choudhary alleged that the BJP was using the probe agencies against those who are raising voices against the Centre.

"This is the reason why searches were conducted against Rajasthan Congress chief Govind Singh Dotasra. We have always said that the BJP should not use the probe agencies as a (political) tool," Choudhary said.
