'Whose Downfall Was It In Karnataka, Himachal': Rahul Gandhi Confident Of Winning Upcoming Assembly Polls

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi said Congress party will win upcoming elections in all four states of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, and Telangana

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Thursday exuded confidence for the upcoming polls for Assemblies of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Telangana saying the party will win polls in all the four states. He also referred to Bharatiya Janata Party’s “downfall” in Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh. Addressing a public gathering in Ladakh’s Kargil, the Congress MP said, “Whose downfall was it in Karnataka or Himachal? Elections are going to take place in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, see whose downfall will it be there. Congress is going to win all the four elections.”

“Congress is not only a party but an ideology,” he added.

The Wayanad MP is currently on a motorcycle tour of the Union Territory of Ladakh and covered approximately 130 kilometres till Tuesday. The Congress called his Ladakh Yatra, a continuation of his Bharat Jodo Yatra  as his trip to the Union Territory was in fulfilment of a commitment made to a delegation from there during his cross-country march.

In September last year, Gandhi undertook a 4000-kilometre march with scores of people from the party from Kanyakumari to Kashmir.

Taking to X, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh had said, " On 24th January earlier this year, Rahul Gandhi had met with a delegation from Ladakh during the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Jhajjar Kotli, Jammu."

"His visit to Ladakh this week is in fulfilment of a commitment made to that delegation, which had wanted him to come and hear the people's perceptions of the border challenges with China, and also their views on empowerment of local elected bodies," he said.

Gandhi reached Leh on a two-day visit last week , later deciding to extend his stay in the region by four more days to cover Pangong Lake, Nubra Valley and Kargil district, In many ways, this Ladakh Yatra is a continuation of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Ramesh said.
