Punjab Election 2022: Sweet Shops On Toes As They Receive Ladoo Orders From Political Parties

A sweet shop in Ludhiana has prepared ‘Jeet Ke Ladoo’ (ladoos of victory), with each ladoo weighing approximately above five kilograms, stated the above-mentioned ANI report. 

New Delhi: As the countdown begins for the election result, sweet shops in Punjab are prepping up for the D-Day as they receive huge orders from various political parties to celebrate their victory, reports news agency ANI.

A large number of candidates of various political parties have flooded the sweet shops with their orders for various kinds of ladoos. 

A sweet shop in Ludhiana has prepared ‘Jeet Ke Ladoo’ (ladoos of victory), with each ladoo weighing approximately above five kilograms, stated the above-mentioned ANI report. 

"This year, we have received orders of laddoos in bulk to mark the victory of political parties in the recently held Assembly polls. We have deployed our trained staff members to prepare these special laddoos with care." said Narinder Singh, president of Punjab's Halwai Association, quoted by ANI.

While sweet shops are busy preparing bulk orders of ladoo, it is yet to see which political party in Punjab gets to actually cherish them. 

The ABP-CVoter Exit Poll Survey, had projected that the Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party had the highest vote share of 39% in Punjab followed by Congress at 26.7%. Shiromani Akali Dal which had split away from BJP was predicted to gain 20.7% vote share whereas BJP in alliance with former CM Amarinder Singh’s Punjab Lok Dal and SAD (Sanyukt) has been projected to gain a 9.6% vote share while others may get 3.8%.

Along with Punjab, counting of votes for Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Manipur, and Goa will also take place on Thursday.
