'Silent Sacrifice Defines Our Faith': Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's Emotional Retort To BJP
Priyanka, in her address, said that it has been 10 years since the grand old party lost power, but the saffron party has been blaming everything on her party.
In an emotional retort to BJP, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Saturday said that she understands the meaning of "sacrifice". Priyanka, in her address to the people of Nainital's Ramnagar in Uttarakhand without taking any name, said, "No matter how much they (the saffron party) insult my family, we remain silent because they do not understand our struggle".
"The biggest proof of faith in Hinduism is 'sacrifice'. I placed my father's body in front of my mother when I was 19. I understand martyrdom and sacrifice. We remain silent because we have faith and true devotion for this country in our hearts," Gandhi said.

मैंने 19 साल की उम्र में अपने पिता का शव अपनी मां के सामने रखा है। मैं शहादत और त्याग को समझती हूं।

Attacking the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), she further asked, "For how long you'll be blaming Congress?" Priyanka, in her address to the people of Nainital's Ramnagar in Uttarakhand, said that it has been 10 years since the grand old party lost power, but the saffron party has been blaming everything on her party. She said that the BJP claims that "nothing has been done in the Country in 75 years".
"Congress is not in power for the last 10 years. For the last 10 years, they (BJP) have been in govt with a full majority, now they say '400 paar' they want more majority," she said.

From Ramnagar, Priyanka asked BJP, "If nothing has happened, how have such skills developed in Uttarakhand, from where IITs, IIMs, and AIIMSs came into the country? Chandrayaaan landed on the moon, if Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru hadn't built these, was it possible?"
Hitting out at Prime Minister, Priyanka said the PM claims everybody is corrupt and he is clean. "They are so busy using ED, CBI, and IT to bring leaders to their party and topple the government that they have forgotten about employment and inflation. Then when the electoral bond was disclosed, the issue of taking donations and doing business came to the fore," she said.
She held the rally in support of her party candidate Ganesh Godiyal, the candidate from the Garhwal Lok Sabha constituency. Congress's star campaigner Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will also be addressing a public meeting in Uttarakhand's Roorkee.
Earlier this month, the Congress party unveiled its 'Nyay Patra' or manifesto for the Lok Sabha elections, which includes a minimum support price (MSP) for farmers' produce, among other provisions.
The manifesto emphasises 'Paanch Nyay', or five pillars of justice, which include 'Hissedari Nyay', 'Naari Nyay', 'Kisaan Nyay', 'Yuva Nyay', and 'Shramik Nyay', in addition to the promises made to the people as part of its poll promises for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Uttarakhand will elect representatives for five Lok Sabha seats, with voting scheduled for April 19 in a single phase.
In the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the ruling BJP-led NDA won all Lok Sabha seats.
