New Delhi: Politics has started boiling over Congress general secretary for UP East Priyanka Gandhi’s proposed Ayodhya visit on March 29.  Uttar Pradesh minister Mohsin Raza made a controversial remark against Priyanka, saying she is going to search for Mughal emperor Babur’s last remains there. Raza, who is also BJP’s minister in-charge of Amethi, took a dig at Priyanka’s Ayodhya visit and said that he cannot think of any reason why Priyanka who is granddaughter of Feroze Gandhi would visit Ayodhya now unless she was remembering Babur, the Mughal emperor who is said to have ordered the construction of Babri Masjid . Referring to Priyanka’s grandfather Feroze Gandhi, he said: “Why is Feroze Jehangir's grandaughter going to Ayodhya? Ayodhya is the birth place of Lord Ram. And those question this belief are now going to Ayodhya. What are they going to search for there?” He compared the Congress leaders to Siberian birds (which are seasonal birds) and said : ‘They never attended events like Prayagraj Kumbh, Holi of Barsana  or even the Deepotsava of Ayodhya. Now they want to go there. I think they’re remembering Babur and are going to search for his remains. Bt let me tell them there are no remains of Babur there.” “Their nature is like that of Siberian cranes, they come and go depending on the weather”, said Raza. He said: “Now mere drama is not going to help them. Their time-to=time train and boat travel must have shown them the development work done by the Modi government. But they are in a habit of going on picnic. This entire visit is nothing more than a picnic.” Priyanka is scheduled to kick-off a three-day election campaign to Ayodhya on March 29. It was earlier scheduled on March 27, however on Tuesday, sources informed that the visit has been delayed by two days. Since her official political debut in January 2019, Priyanka has already visited two significant temple towns in the state – PM Modi's constituency Varanasi and Prayagraj. She is likely to halt at 32 points between Faizabad to Amethi including Raebareli and Barabanki during the campaign.
