Dictionary Contains 'Mafiavad' And 'Parivarvad': PM Modi's Swipe At Samajwadi Party In Varanasi

PM Narendra Modi made the remarks while addressing a rally in Varanasi after inaugurating and laying the foundation of 27 projects worth Rs 2,095 crore.

New Delhi: In a veiled dig at Opposition parties in Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said their dictionary contains 'mafiavad' and 'parivarvad' while for the BJP it  is 'sabka saath, sabka vishwas'.

PM Modi made the remarks while addressing a rally in Varanasi after inaugurating and laying the foundation of 27 projects worth Rs 2,095 crore. This was PM Modi's second visit to Varanasi in just 10 days.

Without naming any party, PM Modi said, "You all know what their dictionary, body language and thoughts have - 'mafiawaad', 'pariwarwaad', illegal property occupancy. They have problems with the Purvanchal development and even the Kashi Vishwanath Dham. But we keep gaining blessings, as their anger touches the sky."

PM Modi also lashed out at previous regimes for seeing UP politics through the lens of caste, sect, and religion.

"Some people get hurt when I talk about the double power of double engine and double development of Kashi and Uttar Pradesh. These people have seen UP politics only with the view of caste, sect, & religion and don't want the state to develop or have its own identity," the Prime Minister said.

PM Modi also said that "cow is mother and sacred to us". "Those making jokes on cows, buffaloes forget livelihood of crores depend on them," PM Modi said.

PM Modi began his address by paying tribute to former prime minister Chaudhary Charan Singh on his birth anniversary. "On this day, the country is also celebrating Kisan Diwas," PM Modi said.

Among the plethora of projects launched by PM Modi were Banas Dairy Kashi Sankul, a biogas plant in Ramnagar, a 50-bed Integrated Ayush Hospital at Bhadrasi, an inter-university centre for teachers education and a sewage treatment plant at Ramna village.

After laying the foundation stone of Banas Dairy Sankul at UP State Industrial Development Authority Food Park in the Karkhiyaon area of Varanasi, PM Modi said milk production in India had increased by about 45 per cent as compared to the last six-seven years.

"Today, India produces about 22 per cent of the world's milk. I'm happy that today UP is not only the largest milk-producing state in the country, it's also ahead in the expansion of the dairy sector," the Prime Minister further said.

Spread across 30 acres of land, the dairy will be built at a cost of about Rs 475 crore and will have a facility for processing 5 lakh litres of milk per day.
