PM Modi Mumbai Roadshow: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to hold a roadshow in Mumbai's Ghatkopar on Wednesday. The Prime Minister will hold the campaign in support of the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate from Ghatkopar, Mihir Kotecha. Ahead of the roadshow, the Mumbai Police has issued a special advisory pertaining to the security arrangements in the city.
The voting on all Lok Sabha seats in Mumbai, including Ghatkopar, will take place in the fifth phase of polling on May 20. According to the advisory, a ban has been imposed on drones, paragliders, balloons, kites, remote control, and microlight aircraft in Vikhroli, Kanjurmarg, Parksite, Ghatkopar, Pantnagar, Tilaknagar, Chembur, Chunnabhati, BKC, Kherwadi, Vakola, Vileparle, Sahar, Airport, Vakola, Bandra, Worli, Dadar, and Shivaji Park areas.
Ahead of the roadshow, PM Modi will address a public meeting in Dindori at around 3 pm after which he is scheduled to hold another rally in Kalyan at around 5 pm.
Earlier, Mumbai Traffic Police issued an advisory for commuters informing them about the arrangements put in place in the city. LBS Road from Gandhi Nagar Junction to Naupada Junction and Mahul Ghatkopar Road from Meghraj Junction to RB Kadam Junction will remain closed from 2 pm to 10 pm. The 2.5-kilometre roadshow will start at 8 pm from Shreyas Cinema on LBS Road in Ghatkopar, and end at Gandhi market.
Mumbai traffic police has also suggested that the commuters taking the LBS Road can alternatively opt for the Eastern Express Highway, Western Express Highway, Andheri-Kurla Road, Saki Vihar Road, MIDC Central Road, Santacruz Chembur Link Road (SCLR), Sion Bandra Link Road, and Jogeshwari Vikhroli Link Road (JVLR).
The Lok Sabha elections are being held in seven phases across the country from April 19 to June 1. The counting of votes will take place on June 4.
