Pitching for saffron party candidate and former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar, PM Modi launched a scathing attack on Congress in Belagavi.

"These days the Congress party is propagating its manifesto, actually both the brother, and sister (referring to Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi without taking names) are backing their manifesto, which says if the party is voted to power they will conduct a scan across the country, peeking into your bank accounts, your savings, and even the 'stree-dhana' of women in the country," the Prime Minister said in Belagavi.

Congress Should Apologise To The Country: PM Modi

During his speech, PM Modi accused the Congress party of prioritising family interests over national welfare. He stated, “When India emerges and strengthens, everyone feels proud. But Congress has grown so far from National interest, for so engrossed in the welfare of their family that it does not like the country's achievements... They have started feeling ashamed of every achievement made by us…”

Furthermore, Condemning Congress for various “actions” detrimental to national interests, including questioning Covid vaccines and EVMs. He asserted, “From questioning COVID vaccines to doubting EVMs, Congress left no opportunity to defame India. Supreme Court has reprimanded Congress very badly over this. After all, on whose signals and instructions does Congress play?”

“Congress' lies and rumours over EVMs are nothing but an insult to the country's democracy. It must tender an apology for the same!” PM Modi said in Belagavi.

“Today, India is being recognised as the 'Mother of Democracy' in the world. It is a matter of pride for all of us! In India, around 25 crore have come out of multidimensional poverty...and this very fact has raised self-confidence of the country's citizens,” PM Modi said.

“When India progresses, when India becomes strong, every Indian is happy. But Congress has gone so far away from national interest, it is so entangled in family interest that it does not like the achievements in the national interest,” he added.

Hailing his party, the PM said, “BJP government removed the colonial laws of the criminal justice system. Now in our 'Nyay Sanhita', we have prioritised justice for our citizens more than punishment. Laws pertaining to terrorism have been strengthened, and laws pertaining to atrocities on others have been severed. Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam has new provisions for electronic evidence. After being implemented on 1 July, it will help every citizen of the country”.

Congress Used PFI For Votes: PM Modi

PM Modi further criticised Congress for alleged appeasement policies and support for organisations like PFI. He remarked, “The Congress government gives priority to appeasement, for them the lives of daughters like Neha have no value. They are only concerned about their vote bank. When there was a bomb blast in a cafe in Bengaluru, Congress did not take it seriously.”

“Not only this, Congress has used PFI for votes... which is an anti-national organization that gives shelter to terrorism and which has been banned by the Modi government. Congress is engaged in defending such a terrorist organization PFI just to win one seat, Wayanad,” he added.
