Panchayat Polls — TMC Planning To Loot Votes, Guv Assured Effective Steps To Stop Violence: Bengal BJP Chief
Bengal BJP President Sukanta Majumdar has said that TMC is making plans about how to make others withdraw their nomination and how they can loot votes in the upcoming Panchayat elections.

He said that CM Mamata Banerjee's party makes all such plans. Majumdar made the comments when asked about the upcoming meeting of Mamata with TMC leaders.
"Their planning is underway regarding how to make others withdraw nomination and loot votes...They will make all these plans," Sukanta Majumdar told ANI.

He also visited state Governor CV Ananda Bose to discuss the incidents of violence in the state.
The BJP leader said that the Governor has assured him of proactive and effective steps to stop violence and also said that he would ensure nothing untoward happens to people belonging to Schedule Caste (SC) community.
"I told the Governor everything about the violence. He told us that all proactive & effective steps will be taken to stop the violence happening in West Bengal during the Panchayat election. He told us that everything will be done...He (Governor) went to the ground to have a first-hand experience...," he said.

Meanwhile, West Bengal State Election Commission has now moved the Supreme Court to challenge the Calcutta High Court's order regarding the deployment of central forces in panchayat elections.
Also, Governor CV Ananda Bose on Saturday called State Election Commissioner Rajiva Sinha for a discussion over Panchayat election-related issues, reported ANI.
On Friday, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee slammed those who claim there is no peace in the state, asking them how the situation was during previous governments. Mamata asked Congress why, despite having government in several states, they need TMC support in parliament. She agreed to unite against the BJP, saying, "We are ready to support them in opposing the BJP. However, after joining hands with the CPI(M), they should not come to us for support in Bengal," she was quoted as saying by the news agency ANI.
