Maharashtra Deputy Speaker Narahari Sitaram Zirwal Wins Dindori Seat With A Margin Of 44,403 Votes
Narahari Sitaram Zirwal, who got 1,38,622 defeated his nearest rival Charoskar Sunita Ramdas from NCP (SP), who received 94,219 votes.
Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and Deputy Speaker Narahari Sitaram Zirwal has won the Dindori seat in Maharashtra with a margin of 44,403 votes.
Zirwal, who got 1,38,622 defeated his nearest rival Charoskar Sunita Ramdas from NCP (SP), who received 94,219 votes.
In October this year, Zirwal had made headlines when he had jumped off the third floor of the Maharashtra secretariat and landed on the safety net in protest against reservations being granted to the Dhangar community under the Scheduled Tribes (ST) category.
Dindori constituency recorded the highest voter turnout of 78.05 per cent during the polls held on Wednesday (November 20).
The Mahayuti of BJP, Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar’s NCP could win over 230 of the 288 seats in the state. Of the 95 seats it contested, the Sena (UBT) was winning or leading in just 20 seats. By contrast, Uddhav's archrival Shinde, who split the Bal Thackeray-founded Shiv Sena in 2022, powered his outfit to an emphatic show. Shinde's Sena was winning or leading in 57 seats as per the latest figures shared by the Election Commission.
15 Mahayuti Candidates In 1-Lakh Victory Margin Club
Fifteen candidates from the ruling Mahayuti breached the 1-lakh victory margin threshold, including CM Eknath Shinde and his deputy Ajit Pawar in their respective strongholds of Kopri-Pachpakhadi and Baramati.
The 15 comprise eight from the BJP, four from Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party and three from Shinde's Shiv Sena. No candidate from the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi won this handsomely.
The BJP's Kashiram Vechan Pawara won from Shirpur by a margin of 145944 votes, while the party's Shivendraraje Bhonsale defeated his nearest rival in Satara by 1.42 lakh votes.
Other BJP candidates who won with more than one lakh votes are Kewalram Kale (106,859 votes from Melghat), Dilip Borse (129,297 votes from Baglan), Sanjay Upadhyay (100,257 votes from Borivali), Shankar Jagtap (103,865 votes from Chinchwad), Chandrakant Patil (112,041 votes from Kothrud) and Krishan Khopde (1,15,288 votes from Nagpur East).
