'People Of Northeast Delhi Will Never Be Safe If...': Fadnavis Says During BJP Rally In Mustafabad

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis emphasised that the prime minister follows the principle of "sabka saath, sabka vikas" and had introduced the slogan "ek hai toh safe hai" in Maharashtra.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated on Thursday that people residing in riots-hit northeast Delhi could never be safe if they don't follow Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "ek hai toh safe hai" mantra.

The remarks of Fadnavis came while campaigning in the Mustafabad and the Gokalpur assembly seats of the national capital. During the campaign, he added that the people of Haryana had ensured the victory of BJP and it continued in Maharashtra as well.

"Now, it is the turn of Delhi. Oh, people of Delhi, the sound of your victory should reverberate in all four directions and usher in winds of change and progress to the national capital," he said, news agency PTI reported.

The two constituencies experienced communal riots in February 2020 after the enactment of the Citizenship Amendment Bill and prolonged protests against it. Fadnavis criticized the Congress and AAP, accusing them of engaging in appeasement politics to gain power.

"This is the same area where riots were triggered. Who were the people who created conditions that led to the riots? They were from the same parties that pursue politics of appeasement," the Maharashtra CM added.

Fadnavis Calls Delhi CM 'Compulsive Liar'

He emphasised that the prime minister follows the principle of "sabka saath, sabka vikas" and had introduced the slogan "ek hai toh safe hai" in Maharashtra. He urged people to remain united in the face of threats to Indian culture. "If you forget this mantra, you will never be safe again. If you do not rise today, your very existence will be in question," he further said.

Fadnavis also lashed out at the AAP supremo and former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal calling him a "compulsive liar" who "took the people of Delhi for a ride by with his false promises".

Referring to the alleged liquor scam under the AAP government, Fadnavis stated, "Arvind Kejriwal turned out to be the king of scams ('ghotalo ka sardar')."

He claimed that the upcoming assembly polls would change the future of the national capital. "This is not an election to decide the future of the BJP but to decide the future of the national capital," he added. The election for the 70-member Delhi Assembly is scheduled to be held on February 5 and the vote counting will be done on February 8.
