BJP Targets MVA Over Maharashtra Polls Manifesto, 'Big Promises, Grand Intentions. But...'

The BJP claims that the MVA manifesto's promises, such as financial aid for women, farmers, and youth, are empty promises as the Congress has failed to fulfil similar commitments in the past.

The Bharatiya Janata Party has said the manifesto of the Maha Vikas Aghadi assures a lot of things but none of the promises would be fulfilled. Taking a dig at the manifesto released in Maharashtra, former Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that they have been making all these announcements before as well but now the public has understood everything, before this the public has seen the condition of other states where their government was formed.

In Maharashtra, the Mahavikas Aghadi -- comprising NCP (Sharad Pawar), the Congress, and the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray) -- made several promises in its manifesto. This includes the disbursement of Rs 3,000 to women, farmers and unemployed youth. However, the BJP says that the Congress and its allies have been making such announcements before as well and "whenever the public trusted them they were deceived".

Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, giving the example of Karnataka and Himachal, said that when the assembly elections were being held there, the Congress leaders had mentioned many populist schemes. But after the formation of the government, the people of the state are waiting for the implementation of those schemes and the state government is crying about the lack of money.

Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi also took a dig at Rahul Gandhi's holding a copy of the Constitution and said that the Leader of Opposition has been misleading the public. "The Constitution has been insulted the most during the Congress government," he said.

Rahul Gandhi has been strongly campaigning with the Constitution book in his hand since the Lok Sabha elections. He has accused the BJP of insulting the Constitution since before the Lok Sabha elections. "Rahul Gandhi is misleading the people. When he talks about the Constitution, he is actually carrying blank book in his hand.
